Advanced Practitioner ED

Overview

Chestnut Hill Hospital, located in northwest Philadelphia is seeking an experienced advanced practice provider to join our very experience Emergency Medicine team. Both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants will be considered for this position. Emergency Medicine experience post-training is strongly preferred.

Chestnut Hill Hospital is a 148-bed facility with inpatient and outpatient, diagnostic and treatment services including minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, cardiology, gynecology, oncology, and orthopedics, primary care practices, two Women's Centers and an off-site physical therapy center.

Emergency Department:
  • 40,000 visits /year
  • 22-bed main ED plus 8 fast-track beds

Responsibilities

The Advanced Practitioner will assist the Emergency Medicine physicians in evaluating and treating patients in the main Emergency Department as well as the Observation Unit.
  • Functions as a primary health care provider with the responsibility of managing health related problems and conditions.
  • Serves as a clinical leader and works closely with the physicians in managing patients, administration of medication, order necessary labs or tests, prescriptions and appropriate documentation of patient charts.
  • Works within specific department with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in coordinating and delivering patient care and facilitating communication between the patient and family members, the nursing team and the medical staff.
  • Functions as a clinical expert in the area, program or department assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practitioner program
  • Licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Emergency Medicine experience post-training is highly preferred
  • Surgical experience is preferred
  • BLS Certification
  • Certification or CE Units specific to Emergency Medicine
