Responsibilities
The Coder performs and provides the primary source for data and information used in health care today and promotes provide/patient continuity, accurately database information and the ability to optimize reimbursement.

Qualifications
Education:
High School Degree or its equivalent required. Associates or Bachelors Degree in Health Information or formalized coding training required. RHIT ( Registered Health Information Technician) , RHIA ( Registered Health Information Administrator) and/or CCS ( Certified Coding Specialist) required.
Experience:
A minimum of one-year previous experience coding in a hospital medical record department required. If no formal education or credentials, a minimum of five years coding experience in a hospital medical record department required. Experience in a tertiary level facility required.
